Barbados, also known as 'The Rum Island' is the most eastern island in the Caribbean. On the West Coast, beaches of fine white sand stretch along a blue sea. Coral reefs fringe the coast providing excellent snorkelling and Scuba Diving. Along the East Coast a lively surf is blown briskly by the strong and constant trade winds and the waves pound against the rocky coastline. The constant breeze of the trade winds gives the island a mild and pleasant tropical climate.

You will find mostly a flat coral island with excellent beaches, but there are also rolling hills and many deep ridges and gullies, with an interesting distribution of flora and fauna. There is a vast array of caves and underground lakes, it’s worth a visit to Harrisons Cave or the Animal flower cave up in the north.

In addition to fine sands and beautiful turquoise bays, you'll find great nightlife and a Unesco World Heritage–listed capital.

April tends to be the hottest month in Barbados with an average temperature of 27°C (81°F) and the coolest is January at 26°C (79°F) with the most daily sunshine of 10 hours in March. The wettest month is November with an average of 206mm of rain. The best month to swim in the sea is in August when the average sea temperature is 29°C (84°F).
